FAQs
Are you a certified Mitsubishi VRF specialist in New York?
We are. Our technicians completed Mitsubishi Electric's Diamond Contractor certification program, which covers City Multi VRF design, installation, and commissioning. We've done over 80 VRF projects across NYC — offices, mixed-use buildings, and co-ops.
Can you install a ductless mini-split in a Queens apartment?
Absolutely. Mini-splits are actually our most common job in Queens — older buildings without existing ductwork are perfect candidates. Installation typically takes one day, requires only a small hole through the wall, and causes minimal disruption to the unit or building.
When should I schedule my AC tune-up before summer in NYC?
The best window is March through early May. Once temperatures hit the 80s the schedule fills up fast and wait times stretch. A pre-summer tune-up catches refrigerant issues, cleans the coils, and makes sure the system won't fail on the first hot week of July — which in NYC is genuinely the worst time to be without AC.
What's the difference between a VRF system and a standard central AC?
A VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) system uses one outdoor unit to control multiple indoor zones independently. Each room can be at a different temperature simultaneously. It's more efficient than central air, doesn't require ductwork, and is ideal for NYC buildings where space is tight. Brands like Mitsubishi and Daikin lead this category.
My boiler stopped working in Manhattan. How fast can you respond?
For heating emergencies in Manhattan we aim to have a technician on-site within 2 hours. We carry the most common boiler parts on our vans so most repairs get done the same visit. We work on all major brands — Burnham, Weil-McLain, Peerless, and more.
Is your company licensed to do HVAC work in New York City?
Yes. We hold a New York State Master HVAC license and are fully registered with the NYC Department of Buildings. All our technicians carry their own EPA 608 certifications. We're also fully insured with general liability and workers' compensation coverage.
